A coach at Rhea County High was arrested on Friday for public intoxication after he was banned from school property.
The arrest report says on September 19, deputies were called to the football stadium at Rhea County High over a report that Jon Lovingood was being disruptive as he walked behind members of the school band during the game.
After arriving, deputies learned from administrators that Lovingood is a coach who had been suspended for unknown reasons earlier in the day and was banned from all school property.
Deputies said as they could smell alcohol on Lovingood while they were walking with him to an area to attempt a field sobriety test.
The report says that Lovingood admitted to drinking three hours before the game and said he also took his prescribed medication.
