The Idaho State football team got its first win of the season in record-breaking fashion against a controversial team.
The Bengals beat Lincoln University — an independent program from Oakland, California — 90-0 Saturday at the ICCU Dome in Pocatello, Idaho. It was the first shutout victory since 2015 for ISU, which set single-game program records for points, margin of victory and most extra points made. The 42 second-quarter points and 69 first-half points also broke ISU records.
"These are probably your least favorite kind of games because things can only go wrong,” ISU head coach Cody Hawkins said after the game, via ISU sports information . “For us, it wasn't about the scoreboard, it was about how we played and giving our depth guys an opportunity to get reps."
