DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. (WFIE) - Dawson Springs School officials are addressing allegations of inappropriate comments related to a potential threat made by a volunteer boys basketball coach.

According to a press release, the coach has been placed on suspension of his volunteer status, pending the results of a full investigation.

School officials say the safety and well-being of their students and athletes is our top priority.

Dawson Springs Independent Schools Superintendent Leonard Whalen released a statement saying, in part:

We are taking these allegations very seriously and are cooperating fully with the appropriate authorities. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, we cannot provide further details at this time. will provide an update once the investigation has concluded. We
