MAULDIN, S.C. (WSPA) - Construction has begun on a stadium in Mauldin which will host the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty soccer teams.
The stadium, which is expected to match the architecture of the overall BridgeWay Station development where it will be located, has been downsized since its official announcement in October 2024.
Initially set to hold 10,000 seats, the stadium will now accommodate 6,300 people.
Officials said the new capacity will create a "more intimate experience for fans."
Funding for the stadium included $4 million from the City of Mauldin, $10 million from the state of South Carolina, and $13.5 million from Greenville Pro Soccer.
The stadium will be located just off Bridge Road near Interstate 385 in Mauldin.
