SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

California Gov. Gavin Newsom will be on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," according to an Instagram story post from the show posted Tuesday.

While it is not yet known what Newsom will discuss with Colbert on Tuesday, this announcement comes after the Walt Disney Corporation said "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" will return to air. The show was "indefinitely suspended" after comments the comedian made on the passing of political activist Charlie Kirk.

Disney, in a statement, said it made the decision to suspend the show "to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country."
