WASHINGTON — The Half Street entrance to Navy Yard's Metro station will close for several months to allow for repair work to be done. The good news is, the closure won't start until after the Nationals end their season.
Starting Sept. 29, Navy Yard's west entrance will be closed until March 2026 for the installation of new escalators. This means that the west entrance elevator will also be unavailable. The east entrance elevator on New Jersey Ave. SE will be open during the upgrades.
Navy Yard is the closest Metro station to Nats Park and Audi Field, which is why the repairs aren't scheduled to happen until after the baseball season ends. The entrance is expected to reopen in time for next season, with the first home game slated for April 3, 2026.
