EAST TAWAS – The mid-point of the high school football season also ushers in rivalry week to the area. Two rivalry trophies are up for grabs as Oscoda and Tawas Area meet up for the long coveted News-Press trophy and AuGres will make the trip to Whittemore-Prescott, where the teams will do battle for the “Border War” Trophy.
Oscoda (1-3 overall, 0-2 NMFC Leaders) at Tawas Area (1-3, 0-2 NMFC Leaders)
Oscoda and Tawas Area are both coming off of tough shutout losses last week. The Owls have won this rivalry game eight straight times; including last year’s 36-0 victory. The eight game winning streak is a record for either team in the storied rivalry.
