French President Emmanuel Macron, in the US for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, was briefly stopped on Tuesday by New York police to allow US President Donald Trump’s convoy to pass.
Stranded on the street, Macron stepped out of his car and approached a police officer to ask about the delay.

A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. In the footage, Macron is seen speaking with an officer, who explained that the road was closed for Trump’s convoy.
“I am sorry, Mr. President. Everything is blocked now,” the officer told him.
Macron then called his US counterpart while still standing near the barricade.
“How are you? Guess what happened? I am waiting in the street because everything is closed for you,” Macron was heard telling Trump.
