The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are signing former Florida defensive tackle Desmond Watson to its practice squad, Fox Sports' Greg Auman reported Tuesday, Sept. 23.

Watson, who was signed by the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft, was waived in late August despite never practicing with the team. He was on the non-football illness list, as he aimed to get his weight down before the organization allowed him to practice.

Watson had a workout with the team on Sept. 19, head coach Todd Bowles told reporters on Sept. 22. And no, Watson wasn't signed to help defend the Philadelphia Eagles' famous Tush Push.
