Jimmy Kimmel is back on the air. But if you live in the Harrisburg area, you might not be able to see his return to the small screen.

That’s because Nextstar Media Group, which owns several ABC stations, including ABC27 in Harrisburg, said it would continue to preempt the show, “pending assurances that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve.”

The announcement comes on the heels of the Sinclair Broadcast Group saying it would keep Kimmel’s show off of its stations, although “discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return.”

The two corporations collectively control about a quarter of ABC affiliates.
