LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A former Nebraska police officer was sentenced to 60 years behind bars for two counts of production of child pornography.

Jordan Vaughn, 34, of Scribner, was sentenced on Sept. 11 in federal court in Lincoln. There is no parole in the federal system. After Vaughn is released from prison, he will begin a life term of supervised release.

U.S. Attorney Lesley Woods’ office said the case began when authorities learned Vaughn had been sending images of his genitals to a child.

Further investigation identified that Vaughn was sexually abusing multiple young children, aged 12 and younger, and preserving digital evidence of the assaults, according to Woods’ office. Her office said Vaughn would also sexually assault one or more of his victims while the victims were asleep.
