Work on High Street in Southampton is expected to go on a bit longer than anticipated.

An update from the Town of Saugeen Shores says, “As we enter the final stages of the High Street Reconstruction project, we are now expecting work to wrap up in mid-October (weather dependent).”

They explain, factors contributing to the timeline adjustment include additional work on aging water infrastructure, supply chain delays affecting the delivery of interlocking brick, extra work needed to fix several basement coal chute window openings and rain delays.

Upcoming work includes the pouring of the curb and sidewalk on the north side of High Street as well as base asphalt paving and then the contractor will begin forming and installing sidewalk within the boulevard on the north side. Work will also
