LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Grand Ledge Police Department (GLPD) is warning the community about a recent scam involving fraudulent invoices.

GLPD reports in a Facebook post that the invoices, sent under the "Grand Ledge Planning Commission" name, are designed to appear official by using the city's logo and operational information.

"These invoices are NOT legitimate and are NOT authorized by the City of Grand Ledge. The City does not issue invoices in this manner," GLPD said in the post.

If you receive a suspicious invoice, you should: • Do not make an immediate payment. • Contact the City of Grand Ledge at 517-627-2149 immediately to verify the legitimacy of the invoice. • Report the incident to the GLPD at 517-627-2115.
