POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday that new super-express Metro-North Railroad Hudson Line trains , making the Grand Central Terminal trip in less than 90 minutes, originally set to debut in 2026, will now begin running on Oct. 6.
Five trips between Poughkeepsie and Grand Central will be reduced to less than 90 minutes, and another down to 95 minutes, delivering the fastest ever trips between the two cities, Hochul’s office said. Officials noted that the current travel time for a non-express trip can be up to 115 minutes, depending on the number of stops.
