A man from the Mehsana district of Gujarat was caught with a fake passport at Delhi airport. According to media reports, amidst tightening H-1B visa rules, the man had voluntarily deported himself back to India.

As per the report, the 40-year-old man from Mehsana had entered the U.S. through ‘donkey’ routes, living undocumented in Atlanta and surviving by doing odd jobs.

However, due to U.S. President Donald Trump’s new rules on H-1B visas and growing concerns over illegal immigration, the man believed returning to India would be the safest way to avoid getting caught by U.S. authorities.

He used a fake passport and landed at Delhi airport, but his attempt to escape trouble over his illegal stay in the U.S. was foiled when delhi airport authorities detained him on 8th September 2025.
