NEW YORK'S famous Aqueduct Race Track will be closing next year.

That will bring an end to a glittering 131-year history after the venue opened way back in 1894.

For over a decade, the famous track has been attracting many fans in Queens to watch their favourite horses in action.

Many interesting facets of the Aqueduct still exist, from its history, to betting on races and to the sport itself.

And horse racing fans are very sad to see that treasure go away in 2026.

One enthusiast posted: "Very sad."

Another commented: "Such a loss."

A third wrote: "The gem of Queens."

This fan said: "Will miss it."

And another stated: "So many memories..."

The state of New York decided to close the Aqueduct in order to upgrade the facilities at nearby Belmont Park.
