SDPD Chief Claude Petty says officers were called to Davenport Road at around 11:10pm where they found a man with a gunshot wound.

The investigation of the incident led police to 77-year-old Floyd Richard Allender who was arrested on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

The victim, who has not been identified, was treated and released at a local hospital.
