There was good feeling some movement would come in the latest Michigan Sports Writers high school football rankings this week.

We’ve reached Week 5 and everyone is taking a deeper dive into conference play.

One of those conference matchups that had the eyes of many around the state in Week 4 was Division 1 No. 1 Detroit Cass Tech against Division 3 No. 1 Detroit Martin Luther King.

Cass Tech pulled out a 27-22 victory to remain unbeaten on the season and kept their No. 1 ranking in the process, while King, though fell to another talented team, dropped to No. 3 in D3.

The newly ranked No. 1 teams for the week come as DeWitt in Division 3 and Monroe St. Mary’s Catholic Central in Division 7.

Plenty of other movement happened around various polls, though a week after 20 new teams entered
