Missouri football coach Eli Drinkwitz announced Tuesday that backup safety Caleb Flagg has opted to redshirt the remainder of the 2025 season and is no longer with the team.
It is immediately unclear why Flagg has decided to opt out of the remainder of this campaign.
By playing in less than five games, he is eligible for a redshirt and this season likely will not count against his eligibility. He is a senior this season. Flagg should be eligible to play as a redshirt senior in 2026, with that year now looking likely to be spent at another program.
“Caleb Flagg has elected to no longer be a part of our program and (chose) to redshirt the rest of the year,” Drinkwitz said Tuesday, “so we wish him the best.”
