Apple TV+ is hitting pause on The Savant .

The streamer announced on Tuesday that it will postpone the premiere of the eight-episode cyber thriller starring Jessica Chastain , which was set to begin on Friday, Sept. 26.

“After careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone The Savant ,” an Apple TV+ spokesperson said in a statement to TVLine. “We appreciate your understanding and look forward to releasing the series at a future date.”

While Apple did not explicitly share the reasons behind the scheduling change.

Per the official description, the series follows an undercover investigator (Chastain) as she “infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act.” It’s conceivable that the streamer does not want to air the drama so
