SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – A man accused of murdering another man early this month in Scioto County appeared Tuesday in Common Pleas Court for a pre-trial hearing.

James Ruggles, 33, is charged with the death of Rocky Jordan, who was 59. On Sept. 1, Jordan was found dead inside his home on Millers Run-Fallen Timber Road in the Lucasville area.

Among the charges Ruggles faces are aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, aggravated arson, domestic violence, and gross abuse of a corpse.

No evidence was presented during Tuesday’s hearing before Common Pleas Judge Mark Kuhn, but a final pre-trial hearing has been set for 2:30 p.m. Nov. 5.
