EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A fundraising event is being organized for Evansville Police Department Officer Sam Taylor, who was severely injured in the line of duty.
Officer Taylor was shot twice during an encounter with two suspects in a stolen vehicle in Evansville.

The Lynnville Volunteer Fire Department says a fundraising event to support Officer Taylor is now being planned for November 22.
"LVFD, the Town of Lynnville, and other organizations will be hosting a pork chop fundraiser to help raise money for a fellow Tecumseh graduate who was shot in the line of duty as an Evansville police officer on September 21st, Sam Taylor," the fire department said in a post.
