MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Mount Pleasant man faces felony charges after police say they found 273 grams of methamphetamine in a lockbox.
Henry County Sheriff’s Office said deputies searched a home on the 100 block of South Haynes in Mount Pleasant as part of a drug investigation on Monday, according to a media release.
Inside the lockbox, deputies found 273 grams (about 6 ounces) of meth and a scale. Also found inside a nightstand were plastic bags with meth residue, according to court documents.
The amount of meth and items found are commonly used for drug distribution, deputies said in court documents.
Bobby Skaggs, 58, was charged Tuesday with violation of a controlled substance, a Class B felony.
He is in Henry County Jail on a $30,000 cash-only bond.
