SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - A telecommunications company is hoping that a new reward will help stop thieves.

AT&T reported that between June and December 2024, nationwide. The telecommunications industry experienced approximately 6,000 reports of copper theft.

“We recognize the role that all communications services play, and we remain committed to maintaining uninterrupted and high-quality service for our customers. Copper theft and vandalism of communications infrastructure are serious criminal offenses that disrupt services for our customers, compromise public safety, and negatively impact the community at large. We’re actively working with local law enforcement as they are investigating to find those responsible,” says a spokesperson for AT&T.
