SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - A Sikeston, Missouri man is facing charges after an incident early Tuesday morning.

According to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, officers responded to Alabama Street on September 23 after receiving a gunshot detection alert from ShotSpotter.

While on the way there, officers saw someone walking away from the area, later identified as 19-year-old Terrieon Jones.

During the investigation, officers found a handgun concealed in Jones’ waistband. The firearm had been previously reported stolen out of Cape Girardeau County.

Jones was then arrested and charged with stealing, as well as resisting or interfering with arrest--both felonies.

He is currently being held pending formal arraignment in Scott County.

This investigation is ongoing.
