HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - A mother praying for justice and an arrest, as her teenage son recovers from being shot in the neck.

On September 13, a man drove to the emergency room with a gunshot to the neck.

That man has now been identified as 18-year-old Zyrian Carter.

Carter’s mother wouldn’t say whether he has been released from the hospital for safety reasons.

However, she says she is extremely grateful for the progress her son has made while at the hospital and for the outpouring of support.

“He’s so loved and just all of his friends, seeing his friends come and visit him, just be there for him, it means a lot,” Kendra Smith, Zyrian Carter’s mother said. “I told him you’re loved and just the amount of shares I got on Facebook
