CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The Lowcountry is home to a growing Hispanic community — and for many, finding a taste of home means more than just food.

From the outside, El Molino may appear to be a typical neighborhood grocery store. But once you step inside, you’re surrounded by the flavors, smells, and sounds that feel like home, even if that home is hundreds of miles away.

Owned and operated by Jamie Tinoco and his family, El Molino is more than just a place to shop.

“When we first opened, we opened on the pandemic,” Tinoco said. “So, it was a little bit hard to kind of work on the store, but little by little, we add more things."

What started as a small grocery store soon expanded. One of the biggest additions was a Tortilleria, and it didn’t stop there.
