Iowa State basketball point guard Tamin Lipsey suffered a knee sprain and will be sidelined for the next 4-to-6 weeks, the school announced Tuesday, Sept. 23.
The Cyclone senior suffered the right knee injury - a Grade 2 MCL sprain - during practice.
The timeline for the injury should allow Lipsey to be ready for Iowa State's opener against Farleigh Dickinson on Nov. 3, or shortly thereafter.
The Ames native averaged 10.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game last season for Iowa State, which spent the bulk of last season ranked in the top-10 before injuries to both Lipsey and Keshon Gilbert contributed to a second-round exit in the NCAA Tournament.
