President Donald Trump's announcement that acetaminophen, a common medication found in Tylenol, may be linked to autism in children has sparked debate among doctors, researchers, and parents. For years, acetaminophen has been considered safe for pregnant women, but Trump's statement has led to renewed scrutiny.

Dr. Steve Skinner, CEO and clinical geneticist at Greenwood Genetic Center, has spent decades researching autism and its causes.

"We have very limited options to provide pregnant women if they have fever or if they have pain," he said. "Acetaminophen, of all the things we have, is still thought to be the safest."
