COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus nonprofit that serves LGBTQIA+ youth will close its housing program after the Ohio Department of Health did not renew grant funding.
Since 2019, Kaleidoscope Youth Center has helped more than 50 people ages 18 to 25 who were experiencing homelessness access stable housing, the nonprofit said.
In an online statement, Kaleidoscope said it learned in August that the Ohio Department of Health would not renew a grant that serves as a “significant source of funding for our housing program since 2021,” meaning it would have to end the program.
