A man out on bond for murder and three counts of aggravated assault in Warren County has been taken into custody at the QuikTrip on U.S. 49 in Pearl after a chase involving MHP.

WLBT identified the driver as 19-year-old Tavon Cain, from Vicksburg.

According to authorities, MHP became involved in a chase on I-20 near the 64-mile marker with Tavon Cain. He ended up getting out of the vehicle he was driving and running.

Rankin County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search for the suspect. The suspect was contacted by his bondsman, who convinced him to turn himself in.

MHP took Cain into custody at the QuikTrip on U.S. 49 in Pearl.

He is being held at the Rankin County detention center.
