TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Leon County man violated his probation on felony charges after he lied on the stand, landing him more prison time.

Octavius Hutchinson was sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by three years’ probation for armed robbery and armed kidnapping in 2015.

The crime involved several other suspects and resulted in the death of one man.

In January 2015, Hutchinson testified at the robbery and murder trial of his co-defendants Deron Williams, Steven Brown and Brandon Ward.

According to court records, Hutinson testified to his role in the crime. He explained that he was with his cousin, Jessee Rollins, and Williams the night of the robbery. He said Williams, Brown, Ward, and another man were planning to rob Hutchinson’s cousin.
