LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) - Ever since the train derailment in East Palestine two-and-a-half years ago, people all around Columbiana County have been worried that their drinking water wells might have been contaminated.
By the end of the year, residents outside of areas impacted by the East Palestine train derailment may be able to have their own water wells tested for contamination.
"We will be sampling for the same chemicals of concern. There are 29 hemicals of concern that we've been sampling inside the priority zone,' said Laura Fauss, with the Columbiana County Health District.
