HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) -- Property taxes have risen so much across Ohio that there's now a serious movement to eliminate them altogether, and that's concerning for people who run Ohio's townships, which get the vast majority of their money from property taxes.

Howland Township Administrator James Pantalone sat in his office on Tuesday afternoon, asking for cooperation on property taxes.

"Let's start talking about solutions. Let's start talking about reforms, but let's have those discussions," Pantalone said.

Pantalone was part of a Monday night meeting, where 80 people met to discuss the repercussions for townships should property taxes be cut or eliminated. Pantalone said 85% of Howland's money comes from property taxes, and he wants other options.
