The new mandate letter from Premier Danielle Smith lays out ambitious plans for several multi-year projects in Alberta, the Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors said Tuesday.

Devin Dreeshen said a lot of planning and design work is going into the Passenger Rail Master Plan, seeking the best way to connect Calgary, Edmonton and commuter rail in surrounding communities.

“From that large infrastructure project, to also an emphasis on rural infrastructure as well — whether it’s water, road or bridge infrastructure,” he said. “It’s pretty ambitious, and I’m looking forward to working at it over the next two years.”
