More than 85,000 bags of shrimp are being recalled from grocery stores in 31 states, including Kroger stores in Michigan, due to possible radioactive contamination.
The recall, published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Sunday, is the latest of several involving shrimp potentially tainted with cesium-137 .
AquaStar Corp. is recalling approximately 49,920 2-pound bags of Kroger Raw Colossal EZ Peel Shrimp, 18,000 two-pound bags of Kroger Mercado Cooked Medium Peeled Tail-Off Shrimp and 17,264 1.25-pound bags of AquaStar Raw Peeled Tail-on Shrimp Skewers, the Seattle-based seafood wholesaler announced Saturday.
