GREENE COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - It was six months ago on March 20, 2025, when an 18-car train derailed in the Mount Hebron community in Greene County .
Luckily, there were no injuries and all the cars were empty.
In the meantime, the derailment continues to be a ‘nuisance,’ according to neighbors who live nearby. The reason? The railcars that fell on their sides are still there.
Of the 18 total that derailed back in March, 12 railcars are still toppled over and they haven’t been moved an inch. That bothers the folks who live on Greene County Road 107.
“I am surprised there hasn’t been any movement,” said neighbor Carrie Dancy.
Dancy lives about 100 yards away from the tracks and sees them every time she drives across. In fact, Dancy feels as though she has to peer around them car
