ST PAUL, Minn. — Gov. Tim Walz convened DFL lawmakers and other state leaders at the Capitol Tuesday for a roundtable discussion on health care, leveling criticism at Congressional Republicans and the Trump administration for creating "chaos" in the industry.

Although the session focused broadly on the impact of federal policies on Minnesota's health care system, the governor and other state officials specifically raised alarm about the expiration of an expanded Affordable Care Act premium tax credit. Without Congressional action, that credit for qualifying low-to-middle income families above the poverty line — first passed in 2021 — will end at the conclusion of this calendar year.
