A city in New Jersey is celebrating a homicide-free summer for the first time in fifty years, according to officials.
In a statement on Tuesday, leaders with Camden, New Jersey, said that there were zero murders in the city between June 21 and Sept. 22.

"A few short years ago, this accomplishment would have been unimaginable. This is proof that when we work together, peace is possible," Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay said.
So far in 2025, Camden has recorded eight total homicides for the entire year with arrests being made in seven of those cases.
