MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The prosecutors for the first-degree murder trial of Brandon Isabelle began making their case to the jury Tuesday that the defendant killed his girlfriend and infant daughter in February 2022.
The jury was made up of 10 women and 5 men, 9 white and 6 black.
State prosecutor Dru Carpenter presented their opening statement, detailing the relationship between Isabelle and the victim Danielle Hoyle. She says Hoyle met Isabelle while working at FedEx, and later became pregnant with his baby.
Carpenter shared that while Hoyle was having her baby, Isabelle was seeing another woman who he wanted to be with, but she was hesitant to stay with him because another baby mother was in the mix. The two met at Mud Island before the murders took place.
