HARTFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut Paid Leave Authority said that paid leave benefits may be available to residents who are dealing with any one of a variety of ailments.

This week, in recognition of National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, the team at CT Paid Leave issued a reminder that paid leave benefits can be given to those living with sickle cell disease, or SCD.

SCD is the most common inherited blood disorder in the United States, as it impacts around 100,000 Americans. People with SCD are born with it and have it for their entire life, according to CT Paid Leave.
