ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A man is wanted after a woman was shot in her vehicle Tuesday, September 23, according to Lynchburg Police.

Lynchburg Police responded to a report of trouble unknown on the 1400 block of 7th Street, where a woman appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound. The woman said she was in her vehicle when she was shot, according to police. Police say two children were also inside the vehicle at the time of the incident but were unharmed.

Lynchburg Fire Department provided immediate medical assistance and transported the woman to Lynchburg General Hospital. At this time, she is reported to be in stable condition.

The suspect, Richard Lamont McDaniel, is facing the following charges,

Malicious Wounding

Child Endangerment (2 counts)

Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a
