PLYMPTON, Mass. (WPRI) — More than 100 animals were removed from a Plympton property Tuesday morning, according to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA).
The investigation began on Monday after the property owners reached out to the Plympton Police Department to express concerns regarding the animals being kept by their tenants.
Officers reached out to the MSPCA for assistance, which in turn executed a search warrant at the property and discovered 115 animals living in unsanitary conditions with inadequate access to food and water.
The vast majority of the animals were farm birds, including including chickens, turkeys, geese, quails, ducks and one guinea hen, according to the MSPCA.
