It was a busy day at the Egan Center with people experiencing homelessness lining up to take part in Project Homeless Connect. The one-day event helps connect folks to housing and shelter opportunities as well as medical care. Jessica Parks with the Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness says the event is designed to assist people in various situations. “We're going to ask them where they've been staying, where they stayed last night, if they have any income. We do some questions around other supports that they might have. So if they have a support network with family, and try to make really good referrals,” said Parks.
