Demolition has begun on the track at Fraser Downs.

An excavator was seen on the 5/8th oval Sept. 23. A fence had been torn down, holes dug in the track, and the lamp posts circling the track have all removed.

Kelly MacMillan, president of Harness Racing B.C., told the Cloverdale Reporter the work began last week. He’s saddened by the events. He said the silence around the whole situation is disconcerting.

“Nobody is saying anything,” MacMillan said. “It looks like they’re really racing ahead to rip the track up for no particular reason.”

He's concerned over the barns too. They are, he thinks, in good shape.
