PEORIA, Ill (WMBD) -- Alexis Scott has been missing for eight years, and the case has been puzzling for many people, including those closest to her.
A vigil to mark eight years of her absence was held on Tuesday, Sept. 23, in the parking lot of the Long John Silver's on Knoxville Avenue at around 5:30 p.m.
Around a dozen people that were close to her showed up to honor her, including two of her best friends.
One of her best friends, Autumn Hardin, said to her, Alexis was more than just a friend.
"She taught me how to be social. She told me actually, what a friend means to us because when one love, we all love, no matter where we were at, no matter what was going on, we were a team," Hardin said.
Another of Alexis' best friends, Thalia Ross, said that she is a selfless, caring mother.
