OROVILLE, Calif. - A Oroville man was taken into custody after an investigation resulted in the discovery of child pornography.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office says that in March, an investigation was initiated after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding 46-year-old Shea Ruyle of Oroville.

According to the tip, Ruyle was suspected of downloading child pornography.

Detectives from the Butte County Sheriff's Office spent seven months conducting their investigation, which involved issuing multiple search warrants. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Ruyle had moved from a residence on Royal Oaks Drive to a residence on 10th Street in Oroville.
