COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An elections board in northwest Ohio reversed course Tuesday, rescinding a rule that tied poll worker eligibility to views on voting machines.

Seneca County’s Board of Elections voted 3-0 to scrap a rule passed in August that barred anyone “publicly or actively working against the use of voting machines” from serving as a polling location manager.

The reversal came after heavy hitters in the Ohio Republican Party — including gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy — personally pressed the board to change course.

Ramaswamy called the policy a “triple whammy” of First Amendment violations but emphasized that his goal wasn’t to “play the blame game.”

“When a mistake is made, the first thing you’ve got to do is correct it,” he told the crowd.
