CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was found guilty of causing serious injuries after he crashed into an ambulance in northeast Charlotte .

Brian Ogbonna, 22, was sentenced to 24-41 months in prison on Tuesday after he was found guilty by a Mecklenburg County jury.

Multiple people were hurt when Ogbonna ran a red light at North Tryon Street and West Mallard Creek Church Road around 12:30 a.m. on May 12, 2023.

Multiple people were hurt in the crash, including two paramedics.

Ogbonna was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with serious injuries and one count of failing to move over, causing serious injuries.
