AUSTIN, Texas — For many of us, this is what we think when we hear the word ballet: the holiday season favorite, "The Nutcracker."
Each December, thousands of Central Texans attend sell-out performances of "The Nutcracker," thanks to the dancers of Ballet Austin. But there’s a lot more to Ballet Austin than the beloved "Nutcracker."
From now through next May, the dancers will perform in four other completely different full-length ballets during the 2025-2026 season.
This week, the dancers are rehearsing "Grimm Tales," based on three fairytales written by the Brothers Grimm. It will be performed at Austin Long Center this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
